"Big Z" Zeke (voiced by Jeff Bridges) is the most renowned surfer in the penguin world, celebrated for his glorious achievements. He disappeared during a competition ten years ago, thus becoming a legend. His story has inspired generations of young penguins to take up surfing, and Cody (voiced by Shia LaBeouf) is one of the most obsessed among them. From a young age, he dreamed of leaving his small town, and through his own hard work and talent, he gained the support of his agent, Long Legs the Bird (voiced by Mario Cantone), and the short bear boss (voiced by James Woods), who brought him to the world-class surfing competition venue—Hawaii. There, Cody encounters an arrogant surfer named "Tank" (voiced by Diedrich Bader), who scorns "Big Z," and challenges him to defend his idol.
