Tang Sanzang (voiced by Chen Zhaorong) leads a group of animal spirit disciples—Sun Wukong (voiced by Marsha), Bajie (voiced by NONO), Sha Seng, and Long Ma—on a long and arduous journey to India to obtain the book of wisdom and truth. Along the way, they arrive at the fiery, war-torn wasteland of Flaming Mountain. The group intends to borrow the precious fan from Princess Iron Fan (voiced by Yang Guimei), wife of the Bull Demon King (voiced by Peng Qiaqia), to extinguish the raging flames, but they are ambushed by her son, Red Boy (voiced by Aya). During this, Tang Sanzang is also captured by the Spider Spirits, both of whom seek to use his flesh to forge an elixir of immortality.
