Based on Adam Rex's acclaimed children's novel "The True Meaning of Smekday," it is set to release before Christmas 2014. 　　 The story follows an alien race called the Boov, who travel across the universe in search of a new home to escape their mortal enemies. After repeated failures, they arrive on Earth. They kidnap the mother of an 11-year-old Earth girl named Tip, forcing Tip to drive to Florida to seek refuge. Along the way, she encounters a Boov alien who calls himself J.Lo, and the two quickly become friends, sharing many amusing adventures together. J.Lo accidentally attracts the Boov's terrifying enemies—the Gorg—who have already taken over the Boov's home planet and now intend to devour Earth and enslave humanity. Tip and J.Lo must join forces to find Tip's mother as soon as possible and save the world.
