LaMB禁錮天使

"LaMB: The Silent Angel" is an original animation produced by Animax. Directed by Cheng Liangbi and written by Carmelo S. J. Juinio, it premiered across Asia in March 2009. It was also the first high-definition animation produced by Animax Asia. This work is based on the award-winning entry from the 2007 Pan-Asian Animation Script Competition (Animax Awards, known in Taiwan as the Animax Animation Awards), created by Filipino amateur writer Carmelo Juinio. The French-Canadian band Simple Plan and the American band The Click Five contributed two different songs ("I Can Wait Forever" and "Summertime") as the anime's theme songs. In Taiwan and Hong Kong, it began airing on Animax on March 24, 2009, every Tuesday at 10 PM. Starting September 1, 2009, Animax in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Southeast Asia successively broadcast "LaMB Redux" (LaMB: The Imprisoned Angel - Restart), with each episode lasting 2 minutes, totaling 22 episodes. This animation won the Best Animated Film Award at the 44th Golden Bell Awards on October 16, 2009. The judges noted that the work features innovative subject matter and excels in style design, directorial approach, and technical execution. The story is set on the harsh desert planet of Xino, where a new penal system called the "LaMB Program" has been invented. This virtual slavery system punishes serious criminals through special prison suits known as "LaMB suits," forcing them to contribute to society's productivity while deprived of their freedom. These criminals are referred to as "LaMB Angels." The "LaMB Program" eliminates the need for prisons and the death penalty in society. However, this system also sparks controversy, as the citizens of Xino have not reached a consensus on whether the LaMB Program is ethical. The two protagonists, Eve and Jack Griswold, oppose the invisible prison system of the "LaMB Program." Eve was originally a scientist, but after an accident in a scientific experiment she led resulted in numerous casualties, she was sentenced to become a "LaMB Angel." Jack is a scientist visiting from another planet, who immerses himself in work to forget his deceased wife. Unintentionally, he becomes entangled in the politics surrounding the "LaMB Angels" and the invisible prison, and develops a romantic relationship with Eve.
