This is an incredibly witty and unique cartoon that Terry Gilliam (of "Monty Python" fame) must have seen, as the animations he created for the show appear heavily inspired by this bizarre film. Not only is the art style strikingly similar—featuring animated cut-out images—but the eccentric narrative style and the many peculiarities of the film later resurfaced in the Python show. For instance, the recurring gag of presenting an item along with its price and mailing address (both changing each time they appear) was used multiple times on the show. There is also a strongly subversive sexual undertone throughout, and the animation of the announcer bears a remarkable resemblance to Gilliam's work as well.
