Young Stephen Strange is somewhat arrogant about his skills. As a soon-to-be surgeon, he believes he can free his sister from suffering, even though other doctors consider the surgery too costly and ineffective.…But in the end, Strange loses his sister. After a car accident leaves his hands unusable, he becomes depressed, and modern technology offers no solution. He travels to the Himalayas in search of the Ancient One, rumored to possess extraordinary medical prowess. He discovers the Ancient One cannot help him directly; instead, the Ancient One tells him he must first heal his mind to heal his body—to break through mental barriers and not believe only what he sees. Strange undergoes bizarre physical training, yet his condition worsens…The Ancient One falls ill, and the disciple Mordo desires to inherit the title of Sorcerer Supreme, viewing Strange as a rival. Meanwhile, the sinister and immensely powerful entity Dormammu threatens to wreak havoc upon the world once freed from imprisonment. Under the principle that "the enemy of my enemy is my friend," the power-seeking Mordo may ally with Dormammu. Can Strange prepare himself in time to stop them?
