"Socializacija bika?" is a Slovenian animated film, created by cartoonists Zvonko Coh and Milan Erič, and is recognized as the first animated feature film in Slovenia. It debuted in 1998 under Emotionfilm production and was distributed by RTV Slovenia.
This surreal and bizarre story intertwines the tale of Professor Raisin, who experiments with accelerating evolution, with an incident in a kingdom far on the outer rims of the galaxy, where a young prince smokes a forbidden cigar. This grave mistake causes him to devolve into a bull, and he is consequently transported to Earth for seven years as punishment. The main voice actors are Brane Grubar, Niko Gorič, Violeta Tomić, Dare Valič, and others.
The film is entirely hand-made, consisting of 20,000 individual drawings which the creators made in their free time—the entire process took over 12 years to complete. When cutting the frames and fixing them onto the film foil, they enlisted the help of three additional employees and their friend Ivo Standeker—who, out of boredom during the process, eventually also voiced one of the minor roles. The question mark in the title is there because the authors were uncertain they would manage to finish the project.
For their work, they were awarded the Prešeren Award in 1999. The film also received accolades at the 42nd International Festival of Documentary and Animated Films in Leipzig.
