The story follows Xiao Jie's life in Coal Mine Village, where he befriends a child with an unusually large head—Big Head Cai. Big Head Cai is always spouting nonsense and boasting, "Don't waste time reading books; books won't give you the answers to life," "The biggest stone is a star, the smallest stone is dust," "We definitely have a talent for becoming failures," "If an ant lives for a spaceship, it can die without regrets," and so on. Yet, the things he says become unforgettable childhood memories for Xiao Jie.
