King Leopold II of Belgium had a dream of African colonization—coveting that piece of the "Magnificent African Cake!" In a plush-style stop-motion animation, the Belgian director traces this forgotten, blood-soaked history through madness, absurdity, and dark humor. A belching king, a failed businessman, an African hotel waiter acting as an ashtray, a native porter, and a young deserter intertwine to weave five dark fairy tales of the African black forest!
