In the quiet countryside, a leisurely old cow slowly ambles along the railway tracks on the distant horizon. Not far away, an old-fashioned steam train speeds by, carrying its unhurried passengers. Some carriages are occupied by elegant gentlemen, poised and dignified in their reserved demeanor; others are filled with noisy, boisterous common folk, crowded together with animals and emitting unpleasant odors. In the locomotive, a tall, slender train conductor deftly operates the buttons and levers before him, while his shorter assistant busily shovels coal into the furnace. A beautiful woman enters the locomotive, and the conductor, captivated by her, leaves his post.
At that very moment, the train collides with the cow and begins to race forward, completely out of control. The assistant panics—he cannot find the conductor anywhere. Left alone, he puts up the most stubborn yet futile resistance...
