"Zhe" is a two-dimensional animated film primarily created through hand-drawn animation, based on the text of "The Peony Pavilion." I wanted to use this intricate yet purest form of expression to convey the feelings "The Peony Pavilion" evokes in me—the power of "emotion" that runs through the entire opera, transcending life and death. It accompanies Du Liniang across three realms: reality, dreams, and the underworld, allowing love that cannot be realized in the real world to find its fulfillment. All things flourish, each returning to its root. Everything carries Yin and embraces Yang, blending energy to achieve harmony, standing alone yet unchanging, moving in cycles without end. With this "emotion," we meet, part in life and death, and our souls collide and intertwine. All things undergo this cyclical process of return, which is not mere repetition but a continuous evolution and development.
