The film follows the main plot of children's corps members and revolutionary descendants thwarting the enemy's sneak attack on Xibaipo, telling a moving story that took place in this revolutionary holy land. 　　Walnut, the leader of the children's corps, secretly takes his younger sister Zaohua and his friend Big Golden Melon to the front lines to join the army without the adults' knowledge. On the way, they unexpectedly encounter enemy spies searching for Xibaipo Village in the mountains and learn of the enemy's plot to bomb the Xibaipo Party Central Command Center through a coordinated inside-outside attack. Walnut decides to return to the village immediately to deliver the warning. Under Walnut's leadership, the children pass through the Yinhe Cave, cross the Baipo Ridge and Shenlong Mountain, all while evading the pursuing enemy. In the end, Walnut risks his life to complete the mission of delivering the warning while covering his friends' escape, and together with the Xibaipo Children's Corps, he welcomes the birth of New China.
