Continuing from the previous story, Yang Laixi continues to contribute his efforts to the anti-Japanese cause. Leading a small anti-Japanese squad, Yang Laixi actively transports supplies and gathers intelligence for the New Fourth Army. Using this intelligence, the New Fourth Army achieves a comprehensive victory in a nighttime battle by the river. When Yang Laixi delivers a letter for a wounded soldier to the East Zhejiang Anti-Japanese Base, Captain Ma learns of the Japanese army’s plot in advance and devises a "Empty Fort Strategy" to scare off the Japanese forces. After joining the New Fourth Army, Yang Laixi follows Captain Yang into battle and successfully eliminates a Japanese officer attempting to flee. Later, Yang Laixi follows the East Zhejiang Guerrilla Column northward through the red corridor, vowing to drive the Japanese invaders out of China.
