During a trip, a girl named Peng Lai accidentally wanders into a mysterious cave, where she discovers the ancient Chinese classic "Shan Hai Jing." Out of curiosity, Peng Lai takes down the book to read it, only to unintentionally break its seal. As a result, all kinds of mythical beasts and strange creatures from the Shan Hai Jing escape from its pages. To quell the chaos and restore the Shan Hai Jing to its original state, Peng Lai embarks on a journey to retrieve the escaped creatures. After breaking free, these mythical beings cause mischief and wreak havoc across the world, turning cities upside down. Peng Lai travels from place to place, striving to recapture each creature. Naturally, the beasts are unwilling to return to the book without a fight, leading to confrontations every time. The retrieved creatures can be summoned by Peng Lai, who can also borrow their abilities, and some even become reliable companions. In the end, Peng Lai successfully retrieves all the mythical beasts, saving the real world. Returning to her parents, she emerges stronger and more confident than ever before.
