The special operations team composed of Shunliu, Shangyu, Gaochao, Aniu, and Luojiang, along with the five youths Anjing, Jiahao, Guoliang, Junjie, and Weixiong, receive orders to carry out a special mission. Upon arriving at the base, the ten are informed that the military has equipped a large-scale experiential simulation VR national defense education system. Their assessment task is to enter the system and complete the missions assigned by it. Using this VR system, which is based on the ninety-year history of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, the superiors aim to help the ten individuals identify their own shortcomings and achieve a transformation in their perspectives and emotions by revisiting this magnificent history. The ten-episode story will unfold through the two teams entering different historical events. The five youths will experience the Long March and the War of Resistance against Japan, through which they will come to understand that the peaceful life they enjoy today was earned through the blood and sacrifices of their predecessors, and that the youth must strive tirelessly to serve the nation. Shunliu and the five special operations team members will enter three phases: the Liberation War, the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea, and the post-founding period, becoming participants in the campaign missions. Through this, they will realize that the true "King of Soldiers" are the heroes who fought for the liberation and rise of the nation across different eras, and this is the true meaning and mission of being a "King of Soldiers."
