Long, long ago, in a Yi ethnic village, lived a beautiful and clever girl named Axi. A greedy and ugly chieftain coveted Axi's beauty and attempted to use his power to marry her. Unmoved, Axi drove away the matchmaker who came to propose. Afterward, a deceitful sorcerer devised a sinister plot. He falsely claimed that Axi was a reincarnated demon and must marry the divine rooster of their family; otherwise, she would be bitten to death by the celestial dog. He tried to use this trick to lure Axi to the chieftain's mansion. However, the clever Axi saw through his scheme. Instead, she got the divine rooster and celestial dog drunk, during which she received help from a brave and upright hunter named Azhi. The two lovers thus became husband and wife. But the chieftain, unwilling to accept defeat, devised a new plot to frame Axi... This film is adapted from an ancient legend of the Yi people.
