The Missing Piece Meets the Big O

One very ordinary day, Missing Piece encountered a Big O. This fellow was quite strange, because he wasn’t missing anything at all. They started talking. Missing Piece asked him, “Do you need any part of me?” But Big O said, “I don’t need you.” Missing Piece said, “I like you, we should be a complete whole together.” But Big O said, “But I’m not missing any piece.” Missing Piece was very sad, because she thought she could roll forward together with him. Big O said, “Why don’t you try rolling forward by yourself?” Missing Piece never imagined she could roll on her own, but encouraged by Big O, she slowly and arduously began to roll forward. Finally, one day, after her edges had been worn smooth, she too became a complete circle, just like Big O. And so they rolled forward together, happily.
