During the early stages of the Second Revolutionary Civil War, in a small mountain village located at the border between the Red and White zones in the Jinggangshan region, Shanya and his friends were playing with firecrackers. Suddenly, a burst of intense gunfire echoed from the distance. Due to the betrayal of the traitor Zhang Sishui, Shanya’s mother was severely wounded. Before sacrificing her life, she entrusted Shanya with the critical task of delivering an important piece of intelligence. However, Shanya was also captured by the enemy. The White Army commander, believing Shanya to be young and easily deceived, set a trap by instructing the traitor to impersonate a courier from our Xinlong base, pretending to rescue Shanya in order to extract the intelligence. Shanya initially fell for the ruse and nearly handed over the information, but fortunately, he noticed a green snake tattoo on Zhang Sishui’s right arm, recognizing him as the traitor. Later, with the help of his friends providing cover, Shanya evaded the enemy’s watchful eyes and retrieved the intelligence from a bamboo grove. However, the cunning traitor caught up with him again, forcing Shanya onto a steep cliff. Thinking quickly, Shanya tied firecrackers to a cow’s tail and lit them, scattering the three White soldiers chasing him. He then used a machete to kill the traitor, who was clinging to an old vine on the cliff’s edge, before safely delivering the intelligence to the Xinlong base.
