In northern Europe, a fisherman accidentally discovers the origin of a fish school through sheer luck. The uniquely designed boat and the protagonist's attire in the short film exude a strong Nordic style. Two points of conflict emerge in the story: one between man and nature, and the other between man and a water monster. Natural disasters force the man to travel far and wide to catch fish in order to support his son. Just as he joyfully believes he has found the fish school, he encounters an even greater catastrophe. The ending, where the man sinks into the sea, leaves suspense for future plot developments.
The short film "Treo Fiskur" was a collaborative graduation project created by director Lucie Delvaix and three other classmates during their studies at the French 3D animation school Supinfocom Valencienne. It was shortlisted for the Best Animated Short Film category at over ten international film festivals, including the UK's Encounters, and was selected by the American The Eye Candy Show as the Best Animated Short Film of the Year.
