Who Killed Cock Robin?

As night falls, all is silent. High up in a tall tree, Cock Robin (voiced by Purv Pullen), dressed in solemn attire, sings the most beautiful and loving serenade beneath the window of his beloved Jenny (voiced by Matha Wentworth). Yet, at this most romantic moment, a shadowy figure stealthily emerges in the woods, firing a sharp arrow that pierces Cock Robin’s chest. The poor robin falls from the tree with a thud, startling the sleeping birds and frightening the patrons of the Old Crow Bar. Police cars and ambulances rush in with blaring sirens, and rough policemen storm into the bar, arresting the timid blackbird, the gang-affiliated sparrow, and the foolish cuckoo, throwing them into police vans to await trial by Judge Owl (voiced by Billy Bletcher). Who killed Cock Robin? This film is adapted from the original work of the same name and received a Special Mention for Best Animated Film at the 1936 Venice Film Festival.
