In the bustling city, the crisp sound of drums and the joyful laughter of people suddenly draw near from afar. A grand carnival is being held here; by the harbor, crowds surge like tides, dressed in all sorts of costumes, indulging in revelry, drinking freely, singing loudly, and dancing wildly, ceaselessly day and night. However, even the most boisterous gatherings must eventually come to an end. As the sun rises on a new day, a plump clown lies in a drunken slumber in an old apartment. Soon, he awakens from his dream, seemingly still longing for the exhilaration of the previous night. Hastily putting on his clothes and grabbing his props, he rushes out into the street. Yet, not a single soul is to be seen in the city, and all around is silent as a grave. He wanders through every corner, searching for a companion to dance with.
As if abandoned and betrayed by the entire world, the clown’s lonely willfulness appears so desolate...
