The inhabitants in the film live in a country surrounded by dikes. Rising with the water, an ordinary day begins with crispy bread, as the housewife watches family members leave one after another and leisurely goes about her chores. In this world of water, water seems almost nonexistent, and every aspect of life appears to be taken for granted. Towering above all this is a king who resides in a castle. Invaders shatter the peace, and the King of the Water Kingdom fights resolutely for his realm against the intruders, earning the respect of the people. This work is also Paul's only production made in Japan.
