VERMILLION RED is a dark, handcrafted Stop Motion film by Matt DeLisi, a cautionary tale about the human gray area. Are we good? Are we bad? Or do we become something else entirely when survival is on the line? At the center of Vermillion Red is a simple instinct: protect the egg. But as that instinct intensifies, the line between protection and destruction begins to blur, forcing us to confront a deeper question: what is the true cost of survival? This film was created entirely solo over the course of several months, from sourcing miniatures and building practical sets, to animating each scene by hand. The original score and song were also written and recorded specifically for this piece, making it a fully self-contained work of personal storytelling.
