Doremi, Hazuki, Aiko, and Onpu, who are about to enter the fourth grade, have become close friends but have also lost their witch identities. One night, the four of them return to Mahou-dou to bid farewell to Witch Rika, only to find that Witch Rika and the others have left without saying goodbye. By chance, they discover the hair dryer that the Queen had transformed for Witch Rika, and they use returning it as an excuse to re-enter the witch world. Under the Queen's deliberate arrangement, the four of them pass through the Queen's rose garden and witness the birth of a witch baby from the Queen's Rose (the Queen's Rose is a precious flower that blooms once every hundred years; a witch baby born from it possesses exceptionally strong magic and is a candidate to become the future Queen of the witch world. According to the rules, those who witness the birth of a witch baby become its mother and are obligated to raise it). Despite opposition from most witches, the Queen orders them to care for this witch baby for one year and restores their status as witch apprentices. To provide a suitable living environment for the baby, Mahou-dou is also transformed into a flower shop. During this time, Doremi and the others must undergo nine regular health check-ups for the witch baby; if they fail any of them, the witch baby will be sent back to the witch world. The witch baby is later named Hana by Doremi, meaning "baby born from a flower." Under everyone's care, Hana gradually grows and becomes more understanding, but her immense magical power also brings them plenty of trouble.
