"Consuming Spirits," from 16mm to HD, is an independent feature animation that chronicles the lives of three characters residing in the rust belt town of Magguson, where they work at the local newspaper, The Daily Suggester. They are: Gentian Violet, 42; Victor Blue, 38; and Earl Gray, 64. They first appear to be mere acquaintances. However, as the film unfolds, we discover they share a long and diabolical history, revolving around social service intervention, foster care, romance, and hatred. Each character harbors family secrets to conceal and family secrets to uncover. An auto accident on one dark and inebriated night causes a crack in the memory vault of these intimate strangers. By the film's end, all parties walk from the woods, both healed and wounded... enjoy.
