During the school summer break, nine-year-old Elizabeth travels to the rainforest where her family lives with the Pemón tribe. After an accident forces her mother to fly her father to a hospital, Elizabeth is left in charge of her three-year-old brother, Leo. However, instead of watching over him, she becomes absorbed in her sketchbook. When Elizabeth finally looks up, she discovers Leo has vanished, with all clues pointing to him having wandered into the jungle. Now, she must trade her books for bravery—not only to find Leo, but also to rescue a mystical furry creature from captivity and return it to its family at the legendary Tepui mountain, all before her parents return home.
