Emmett (voiced by Chris Pratt) is an ordinary architect in the Lego world who goes completely unnoticed. He is full of energy and optimism every day, following the instructions manual for his daily activities. One day after work, he accidentally falls into a deep hole, and something strange gets stuck to his back. Soon after, he is taken away for questioning by a police officer (voiced by Liam Neeson) who embodies both ferocity and kindness. It turns out that the President (voiced by Will Ferrell), who rules the Lego world, is deeply dissatisfied with the highly creative little figures. He despises the crossover between different Lego worlds and hates inventions that deviate from the instructions manual to forge their own paths. As a result, he has separated all the worlds, imprisoned the creative masters, and is plotting a terrible conspiracy. In a moment of crisis, Emmett is rescued by Lucy (voiced by Elizabeth Banks) and is identified as the savior by the prophet Vitruvius (voiced by Morgan Freeman). As the storm of persecution descends upon the creative masters, can Emmett, who lacks imagination, rise to the challenge?
