The genius and mad scientist Rick suddenly returns to his daughter Beth's side after being missing for many years, setting up a science laboratory in her garage. Rick has a "Portal Gun" that allows him to travel to various dimensions across the universe. His grandson Morty inexplicably becomes his assistant, often dragged into his homemade spaceship to embark on all sorts of crazy and thrilling cosmic adventures together. His daughter and son-in-law are unhappy with his wild behavior, yet they can do nothing about this genius scientist.
