In the waters of New York Bay lives a flying fish family, and the young flying fish Kevin (voiced by Li Junyu) has been chosen by his father as the next generation's lead fish. He dreams of one day leading the entire family to their ancestral home in Barbados. After a heated argument, he impulsively ventures into the human fishing zone, gets captured, and ends up in the fish tank of a Chinatown restaurant, with the family's heirloom pearl also missing. At the restaurant, Kevin meets the owner's son, Xiaobao (voiced by Lin Ying), a seemingly introverted and quiet Chinese boy who secretly harbors a love for adventure. His father, Dabao, forces him to practice cooking every day to prepare for the malicious challenges from competitors and to eventually take over the family business. The two get to know each other and form a friendship. Just then, the pearl from Kevin's family is suddenly thrown back into the fish tank by the New York thief Jack (voiced by Meng Fei) while he is evading the police. Following this coincidence, the worlds of Kevin, Xiaobao, Jack, and the fish in the tank intertwine, leading to a series of thrilling, humorous, and heartwarming stories.
