Based on the graphic novel of the same name by Paco Roca, the film tells the story of the friendship between Emilio and Miguel, two elderly men living in a retirement home. When Emilio is admitted, he is already in the early stages of Alzheimer's disease. With the help of Miguel and others, he gradually overcomes his fears and adapts to life there. Their friendship fills the long, tedious years with humor and warmth. Though life may be nearing its end, for these two old men, it feels as if it is just beginning. This 2D animation is intended for adults only, and its realistic subject matter gives it a significant advantage over the other 17 films initially selected. PS.
