In the lawless Wild West, Jerry is a notorious cheese thief who frequently sneaks into local cheese shops to feast to his heart's content, no matter how much the shopkeeper tries to stop him. Furious and humiliated, the cheese shop owner demands that the town sheriff punish Jerry severely. The sheriff remains calm and confident, claiming he has hired the highly skilled mouse-catching expert, Tom, who will soon bring Jerry to justice. This news sends Jerry, who was eavesdropping outside, into a panic. Not long after, the arrogant and self-assured Tom arrives in town. He proudly shows off his clumsy techniques and skills in front of the sheriff before being ordered to face off against Jerry in a duel at the town center.
