A young boy named Qiqi, living in Shanghai, secretly takes in a stray dog named Pipi and keeps him at home. To prevent his mother from discovering the dog, he makes a pact with Pipi: whenever an adult is around, the dog must pretend to be an inanimate plush toy. As a result, Qiqi’s life gains many troubles, but even more joy. Through their time together, both Qiqi and Pipi learn to cherish their friendship and gradually grow along the way.
