"Motion Painting No. 1" is an experimental animated short film created by Oskar Fischinger in 1947. In the film, he synchronized imagery with the music of Johann Sebastian Bach's "Brandenburg Concerto No. 3," bringing it to life. This is a film centered on painting (oil paintings on acrylic glass); Fischinger spent nine months filming the creation process of each brushstroke. In 1997, the film was selected for preservation in the National Film Registry by the United States Library of Congress.
