On this day, Winnie the Pooh (voiced by Jim Cummings) wakes from his sleep to find that his honey supply has run out. So he ventures into the Hundred Acre Wood in search of honey, only to encounter the gloomy donkey Eeyore (voiced by Bud Luckey) along the way, who has lost his tail. Pooh promptly gathers Tigger, Rabbit, Owl, Kanga, and Roo to help. Christopher Robin suggests a contest: whoever finds a replacement tail for Eeyore first will win a fresh pot of honey. Everyone then puts their skills to work, bringing back all sorts of tails, yet none of them manage to cheer up Eeyore. The next day, Pooh goes to Christopher Robin for help and finds a note on the door that reads, "Gone out. Back soon." With their limited reading skills, the group assumes Christopher Robin has been kidnapped and frantically organizes a rescue mission. Meanwhile, Pooh can hardly bear the pangs of hunger creeping up on him... This film is adapted from three stories in the original Winnie the Pooh books by author A. A. Milne.
