We believe that freely adapting Voltaire's "Candide" (originally published in 1759) entirely through contemporary references is a revolutionary mission. This is not only because it is a rare approach within the animation genre, but also because—in a highly entertaining way—it offers a critical interpretation of the challenges facing core democratic values. This series is not merely a visual gag or a source of wonderfully cheap laughs; it also stares directly at some of life's hardest realities. We are convinced there is an audience need for culturally rich, thoughtful, and unique animated shows that reflect on our current situation with a satirical tone. Imagine "Candide" as a new show fully cognizant of *The Amazing World of Gumball*, *South Park*, *Rick and Morty*, or *BoJack Horseman*, yet with a distinctive graphic design and characters blending 18th-century and 21st-century styles. "Candide" is an unconventional show. It operates with witty, critical thinking while referencing popular topics from mass media, such as rainforest deforestation, climate change, the political-financial elite, the effects of terrorism, life in war zones, unresolved immigration issues, emerging dictatorships, the challenges of high-tech lifestyles, and mankind in space. It is crafted in the spirit of Voltaire but set in today's globalized world, offering many ways to see ourselves reflected in this mirror.
