In 1955, 60-year-old Marcel Pagnol is invited by the editor-in-chief of ELLE magazine to write a column about his childhood. Pagnol sees this as an opportunity to return to the foundation of his artistic creation: writing. Aware of his fading memory and deeply disappointed by the reception of his two recent plays, he begins to doubt his ability to continue crafting works. At this moment, little Marcel—a younger version of himself—magically appears. The two Pagnols, old and young, will together examine his extraordinary life, revisiting his most cherished encounters and memories. The film focuses on a journey across half a century of France, from Paris to Pagnol’s hometown of Provence, highlighting the glorious 50-year history that shaped our modern society.
