Adapted from the popular author Tian Can Tu Dou's manga of the same name, "Yuan Zun," the story follows Zhou Yuan and Yao Yao as they head to the Cangxuan Sect. To join the sect, they must first become outer mountain disciples before participating in the Mountain Selection Ceremony. Based on their results, they can choose one of the seven peaks of Cangxuan to become official disciples. At the Mountain Selection Ceremony, Zhou Yuan outperforms all the other prodigies, bravely securing first place. To everyone's shock and confusion, Zhou Yuan chooses the weakest of the seven peaks—Shengyuan Peak. It turns out that during the Sacred Ruins, the former sect master, Cangxuan Patriarch, had instructed Zhou Yuan to go to Shengyuan Peak to find the second sacred pattern of the Cangxuan Sacred Seal.
