On a certain hutong street in Beijing, there is a small alley toy shop where a clockwork doll meets a five-year-old boy named Wang Xiaoming. Throughout the boy's entire childhood, this toy friend, performing for him from behind the shop window and bringing him joy, accompanies him as he grows. Spring comes and goes, time does not linger—the little boy grows day by day, becoming a big boy, a teenager, a young man... Yet the clockwork doll does not grow older; all that awaits it is decay. The boy no longer comes to play with the doll, and the doll is forgotten in the street-side shop window, forgotten in the boy's memories. Until one day, another little boy presses against the window and calls out to the doll. Overjoyed, the doll tries to perform for the child, but it has rusted and can no longer muster the strength... This work was nominated for the Animation Award at the first China (Beijing) International Student Animation Festival.
