This series is the "sister show" to "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe" and was produced by Filmation Associates in 1985, capitalizing on the massive success of its predecessor. She-Ra's design is inspired by the 1941 comic book "Wonder Woman." In every episode, the essential opening narration is as follows: "I am Adora, sister of Prince Adam and a friend to all. This is Swift Wind, my noble steed. Fabulous secrets were revealed to me the day I held aloft my magic sword and said, 'For the honor of Grayskull... She-Ra, She-Ra, She-Ra, She-Ra, I am She-Ra!' I am She-Ra! Together with my friends in the Great Rebellion, I fight to free my planet Etheria from the evil forces of Hordak." (Regarding the mystery of Adora's origins, Hordak is actually her adoptive father! During the Horde's invasion of Eternia, Hordak stole a baby girl from the palace—that girl was Adora. Her twin brother is Prince Adam. Years later, the Sorceress guided Adam to rescue his sister, and only then did Adora learn the truth.)
