The film tells the story of humanity discovering another habitable planet named Weilai beyond Earth, where nations and city-states have been established. On Weilai, a Chinese girl named Lan'er leads her companions in a decisive battle against aliens to rescue her father, who has been abducted by the alien overlord Xiaoba.
