Wardi, a Palestinian girl, lives with her great-grandfather Sidi in a refugee camp in Lebanon. Sidi was forced to flee his home during the war and has been stuck in the camp for 70 years, with three generations of his family unable to leave. As he nears the end of his life, he entrusts his house key to his beloved great-granddaughter, passing on his final hope. To lift Sidi’s spirits, Wardi searches the camp for hope, piecing together the memories of generations scarred by history and rediscovering her own roots. Directed by a Norwegian filmmaker who once lived in a refugee camp, this film blends 2D, 3D stop-motion animation and live-action to tell the story of refugee life, igniting a glimmer of light in the darkness.
