The Hongqi Village Elementary School has only 7 students, ranging from 2nd to 5th grade. The elderly principal is no longer able to handle the demanding work of educating the children. The arrival of Xiao Wang brings hope to this small, herding-class-like group. However, even with just 7 students, Teacher Xiao Wang faces significant challenges.
