The story is set during the Eastern Han Dynasty. A general guarding the frontier sees his family heirloom jade, which he always carries in battle, damaged in war, while his eldest son dies on the battlefield. After returning victorious, the general falls ill with a mysterious sickness, and strange events begin occurring one after another in his household. Before his death, the general entrusts the jade to his second son, who thereafter develops a dual personality. The third son accidentally learns the story behind the jade. As a catastrophic disaster that threatens to destroy the nation and massacre the city looms, the two brothers join forces to save their country and their family.
