The color version of Pushkin's most popular fairy tale, about three sisters who once spun late into the evening under their window, dreaming of the tsar, unaware that he was eavesdropping. And so Tsar Saltan chose as his wife the one who promised to bear him a hero. The son was born while the sovereign was away at war. The evil sisters, together with the old woman Babarikha, decided to rid themselves of the young princess. Babarikha arranged it so that Saltan ordered his wife and son Guidon to be sealed in a barrel and cast into the sea. But mother and son did not perish; instead, they washed ashore on a magical island.
