The animated series "Panda and Smeshariki" is a multi-themed animated series produced by the Russian company Smeshariki for young audiences, with strong support from the Russian government and the National Children's Foundation of Russia. Each episode features a small story, through which it educates young people to love life, be honest and trustworthy, helpful, hardworking, and brave, among other values. The series includes ten characters, each with positive traits as well as shortcomings. By critically engaging with these characters, children can greatly enhance their ability to distinguish right from wrong. Since March 2011, the first season of Smeshariki has been broadcast over 30 times on more than 15 channels and has successfully aired on four major cartoon satellite TV channels: Kaku Kids, Xuan Dong Cartoon, Golden Eagle Cartoon, and Youman Cartoon. In 2013, Smeshariki became the ratings champion in the same time slot of CCTV Children's "Animation Big Screen—Excellent Imported Animation" programming.
