At the age of twelve, Gru is a die-hard fan of the supervillain organization "The Vicious 6." To qualify for membership, he hatches a particularly wicked plan. When "The Vicious 6" fire their leader, the legendary fighter Wild Knuckles, Gru interviews with them, hoping to join their ranks. Though things don’t go smoothly, in an effort to prove just how evil he is, Gru deliberately steals the gang’s precious stone and finds himself hunted by them. During his escape, Gru discovers that even a villain needs the help of friends.
