In 1960, Shanghai Animation Film Studio produced a short experimental film titled "Ink Animation Segment," which was one reel in length, serving as a test for ink animation. This was the world's first ink animation. Following the successful production of this film, the studio released its first official ink animation, "Where Is Mama?," later that same year.
