Something unbelievable has happened... Equestria has lost its magic! Earth Ponies, Unicorns, and Pegasi are no longer friends, and now only ponies of the same kind stick together. But an idealistic young Earth Pony named Sunny (voiced by Vanessa Hudgens) is determined to find a way to bring magic back to the world and make it united as before. Together with the cheerful Unicorn Izzy (voiced by Kimiko Glenn), she travels to distant lands, where they meet the charming and brave Pegasi Pipp (voiced by Sofia Carson) and Zipp (voiced by Liza Koshy), as well as the duty-bound Earth Pony Hitch Trailblazer (voiced by James Marsden). They face many challenges on their quest, but each new friend has their own unique talent, which might be just what Equestria needs to restore its magic and prove that little ponies can make a big difference.
