An educational anime for young children by Sadao Tsukioka, known for character design and animation work on NHK's "Mother and Me" segment "Are There Kids Like This?" and "Minna no Uta." For this work, Tsukioka handled the original concept, direction, and animation. The original series aired within the early morning children's strip program "Gurin Chorin Parin" on the TV Tokyo network. It was broadcast in two seasons: the first from September to December 1994, and the second from October 1995 to March 1996 (totaling 53 broadcast episodes plus one unaired episode across both seasons). Each episode takes themes from a preschooler's daily life, such as "How to Brush Your Teeth," "How to Tell Time," or "Picnic," depicting the days spent by the protagonist Toy-chan and her mother. Incidentally, Tsukioka originally worked as an assistant to Osamu Tezuka. His transition to becoming an animator began when he was assigned to Toei Doga (now Toei Animation) as an assistant on "Journey to the West," a production Tezuka was working on in collaboration with Toei.
