Luz, a teenage girl who was supposed to go to summer camp, accidentally arrives at a magical island called the Boiling Isles. There, she meets a witch named Eda who calls herself the Owl Lady, and Eda's adorable demon roommate, King. Although Luz possesses no magical abilities herself, she has always dreamed of becoming a great witch. Thus, Luz becomes Eda's apprentice to learn magic, eagerly anticipating each new day of a life filled with wonder and sorcery.
